|I Kill Kane|
Collapses EP (mb 87)
I Kill Kane began in 2008 (Brazil). It was formed by sisters Qué (drums) and Rety (vocals, guitar) and his best friend Rafael (guitar). They came from other bands such as Whir, Sustress and played together at Laura's Problem.
With these previous bands, shared the stage at shows with icons like "Superchunk", "And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead", "Bambix" and important brazilian bands as "Pin Ups", "Garotos Podres", "Ira!" and many others. They recorded several independent albums and participated in national indie compilations. With Laura's Problem released an 7" EP by the belgian punk label "Filth Ear".
With I Kill Kane, after two attempts with different bass players, they decided a formation without the bass. With the finest compositions that have made so far, they decided to expose the most raw and honest sounds and feelings, without people's influences from outside the consolidated trio. The band recorded and produced their songs all by themselves in their own home studio.
Their influences range from brazilian's underground bossa nova, as Geraldo Vandré to the experimentalism of Sonic Youth. But between the cultural abysm of these two examples, a number of other factors are part of I Kill Kane's daily, such as alternative cinema, photography, literature and other art expressions.
They also have their own webradio called [Karen Koltrane] Radio, influenced by many others of similar style like Woxy, WFMU, GotRadio and in the site's playlist you'll find the cultural range of the band members.
